porphyrio porphyrio การใช้
- There is a similarly named species in Europe, Asia and Africa, the purple swamphen, " Porphyrio porphyrio ", but that bird is much larger.
- One such case is the eastern swamphen ( " Porphyrio porphyrio " ), which gives conspicuous visual tail flicks ( see also aposematism, handicap principle and stotting ).
- The "'western swamphen "'( " Porphyrio porphyrio " ) is a " swamp hen " in the chicken-sized bird, with its large feet, bright plumage and red bill and frontal shield is easily recognisable in its native range.
- The invisible rail is superficially similar to the purple swamphen, " Porphyrio porphyrio ", which has recently been found in Halmahera, but that species is larger, with a short, thick red bill and a red forehead shield; it also has purple underparts and a white undertail.
